Post 4: Speaking in the Present

This week, we´ll continue to review the present in English approaching the Present Progressive, also called Present Continuous. In class next Tuesday, we´ll review the Simple Perfect Tense.

Task I: Grammar Practice

I´m sure you can use the Present Progresive very well. For practicing purposes check the following material that constrasts speaking in the Simple Present and the Present Progressive.

a. Here is a video contrasting speaking in Simple Present versus speaking in the Present Progressive.

b. Here are some exercises to practice.

Task 2: Writing Practice

Imagine you are traveling and visiting a beautiful place (outside Honduras). You are now sitting on the balcony of your hotel room. Describe what is happening at the moment you are writing (e.g. The sun is shining) and then write about your daily routine while in this holiday (e.g. I usually wake up early and eat breakfast in the hotel/at a cafeteria...).

Task 3: Listening Practice

Do one, two or as many as you want of the listening practices here . Once in the website, click on Morning Briefing, then click on Preparation and do the tasks there. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Happy learning!!
